Object Lesson Using A Flashlight

Bible text: Psalm 119:105 - "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

Lesson: Show the children a flashlight and ask them what they think it’s used for. Tell them it is used to help us see in the dark. In the same way, God’s Word is like this flashlight that helps us see and understand what is right and true, especially when we may be feeling lost or uncertain.

After reading the scripture Psalm 119:105, ask them what they think it means. Then explain that just as a flashlight helps us see where we’re going in the dark, God’s Word helps us know what we should do in our daily lives.  We should always turn to the bible for guidance.

Close the lesson by encouraging the children to remember to turn to God’s Word as a source of light and guidance in their lives.
